It has been about 75-80 degrees here all week so we went outside to swim, but the water was alittle too chilly so we settled for a water gun fight! Tyler and I teamed up against daddy. It was a lot of fun! Tyler did great!

Ear Piercing!

April 6, 2010- we took Storie to get her ears pierced. I'm pretty sure I was more nervous than she would have been. We got her in there, tricked daddy into holding her and pierced them two at a time. She did WONDERFUL. She hardly cried at all. They're little gold pearls, too cute. She looks so grown up now. Part of me loves them, and part of me wishes she was still perfect the way she came out. They really are adorable though!

San Diego Mud Run

wow [March 21, 2010].... Kari, Jamie, and myself ran a 5k (3 miles) it was rough, but oh so much fun! It was exactly what it was called, a mud run. We ran through so many mud pits, over bales of hay and dividers, swam through tunnels of muddy water, waded through mud up to our hips. It was so tiring, but we all had a blast. We can not wait to run it again in October!! Here is some pictures from the run!

Got our numbers!

Jake is taping me up....good thing too, cause i would have lost my shoes on that first mud pit!

stopped during the run for a quick photo

egg coloring

Today we met outside with the neighbors: Nick, Mykael, & Emilia. We colored easter eggs and the kids ran around and played. This is the first time I've colored eggs since I was little. It sure was fun! Daddy made a green 'egg' Tyler made a red sports ball egg, Storie's was a purple egg with flower and bug stickers, and mommas egg was a teal with squiggles on it.

Family photo: dying easter eggs.

we had fun!!

earthquake 4/4/10

Well like I mentioned in the last post, we had an earthquake on Easter. I guess it was about 3 or 4pm something like that...
Tyler & I were on the computer and daddy & Storie were watching tv when everything started shaking. The dining room table started moving and all the pictures and glass were rattling. We just looked at each other like 'what do we do....' We got the kids and went to the bathroom. I'm not exactly sure why, but Jake thought it was a good idea. :0 haha.
It felt like a long time...maybe a minute or two than it stopped. I definetly googled 'what to do in an earthquake' and now we know to get under the table or something sturdy and to STAY INSIDE! Hopefully we don't get anymore out here anytime soon. The news said the epicenter was in baja CA which is in Mexico (the little peninsula) and they said it was a 7.2 so pretty big!

Happy Easter

I have been so bad with this blog....the intention was to blog everyday or at least every other day, but I think the last entry was in February!!! Its already April 5th! That's unbelievable. I can't believe how fast time is flying by. Jake has been home going on 6 months now, we've been in our house in La Mesa since September 2009 and miss Storie is going to be 5 months in April!!

Well yesterday was Easter. Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. We sure did! First we hunted easter eggs outside, than we had lunch with 2 of our best-est friends Tyler & Jamie, and than we had our first big earthquake! Very eventful! Not too mention i've been sick just about ALL flippin' week. :/ ugh.

The kids and all their goodies the Easter bunny left.

february already...

geez, the days just seem to fly by and most of the time we never even leave the house. I really need to get off my lazy butt and get Tyler outside. Storie's not old enough for sunscreen and technically isn't suppose to be in direct sunlight until 6 months, and Jake's had the car going on 3 weeks now...but I need to stop making excuses and get outside. Poor Ty.

Anyways, we went bowling and Tyler had a blast. He beat both Jake & I....pretty awesome!

and than some too cute ones of Tyler and Storie. He just loves her so much! I just love watching them together. I can not wait until she is older and they can actually play together.

Storie is 9 weeks old already...
eating chocolate pudding. \ She's got such pretty eyes. They're much different than Tylers. His was that new baby blue, but Storie's are this steel blue/gray. I keep thinking they may go green :) but Jake keeps killing my dream of a green-eyed child by saying they'll be brown.

This is seriously how he watches tv most of the time. It's his Mr. Potato Head glasses. He wears them upside down. We're in for such a hard time when he gets older, but I know without a doubt its going to be one funny ride!

We went to the Birch Aquarium in La Jolla a few weeks ago. It was fun, not as many fish/sealife as I'd hoped, but Tyler seemed to enjoy everything. Heres a few snapshots. There were a lot of fish and some really cool octupi. They also had baby makin' seahorses. They had a few different display tanks where it showed the different stages of seahorses from babies to growing up adults. It was really neat, I wish I would have taken some pictures of those. The baby seahorses were so freaking tiny. I mean like the size of a pea but you could totally see everything! It was really cool.
