Day 5

Day 5: Your Job

I am a doctor, a nurse, a ring leader, a nanny, a referee, a judge, a photographer, a story teller, a painter, a cook, a milk maid, a house keeper, a hair dresser, an accountant, a secretary, a teacher, a crafter, a blogger, but most importantly a wife and a mommy.

Last picture for awhile

This is the last picture of the 3 of them together until the end of the year.... T and S are going to miss the Mr so very much. We all had such a fun week with him in town and now today he had to leave to fly back to San Diego. This was the last time Mr got to hug T and kiss all over S til Christmas. =( My heart just breaks for them and they don't even realize what is happening.

We miss you already daddy! Come home soon and safe. Love you, T and S

Milspouse Friday Fill-in

1) What is your must have gadget?
My cell phone especially during deployments. I have my cell phone in my purse close at hand if not IN my hand. I DO NOT want to miss those few and precious phone calls.

2) How does your adulthood compare to what you imagined it would be like when you were a little kid?
It is how I always pictured it, but better because instead of dreaming it I get to actually live it. I love my sailor. I have always wanted a man in uniform, protecting me, loving me, and someone to share my life with. He gave me 2 beautiful babies and 1 special angel. I love my family.

3) What is your favorite chocolate recipe?
brownies with (tons) of walnuts 4) How do you deal with military life when it gets to be to much or to hard? I try and think about how lucky I am that Mr is alive out there and I try to spend extra time with my kids to help take my mind off of things. 5) What piece of advice would you give a new Military spouse facing their first deployment? Take some time to yourself, the first month is going to be hard. It will take some time getting use to a routine and being a single mom. Spend time with friends/family. Find time for activities, keep busy. Try not to think about the deployment because it will seem to drag on. No news is good news!

S's Fairy Door

Okay a few posts ago I talked about stumbling across fairy doors and how awesome I thought they were. Well I finally completed S's door. While I was at Hobby Lobby picking up the supplies I found a cute little table and chair set for S's room and it had a bird on it and I took the design of the door from there. I'm not sure how I feel about the polka dots, if there's too many, if they look right at all? I'm not sure... but here it is and I like it. Now I gotta find one for T man. He's already talking about the fairies!!

I still want to get some sort of 'thing' to go outside the door. Something girly for S, maybe a mail box or something. I found some cute sports balls for T that he will love.

what do you think?

1) What are some of your ideas for staying connected with family...you know, those people we moved thousands of miles away from?

We skype, email pictures of the kids, and talk/text almost daily.

2) What's the most romantic gift you have GIVEN? '
hmmm, the most romantic gift...I don't know if it's really romantic, but the best surprise (gift) was when I was having a really hard few weeks we were getting dressed for family pictures and I was asking him what necklace I should wear and he pointed to one behind me and said that one. When I turned around to see what he was pointing at he came up behind me and pulled out a little blue box! (TIFFANY'S!) I cried opening it because it was so unexpected and so special. It really meant a lot to me and it's so pretty!

3) Would you encourage your child, if they came to you and wanted to join the military?

Yes I would as long as they have thought through all their options and choices and this is something they really want to do. I think the military is very good for young men and women especially. It builds character, adds discipline, they have to stay committed. It has done nothing but help Jake as a person and help our marriage thrive. We learn to communicate better, appreciate the times we have together as a family, and build a stronger relationship not only physically, but mentally and emotionally.

4) What is your least favorite bill to pay and why?

My least favorite bill is our cell phones. It's our only bill and it's also really high. I love having my smartphone but I hate paying for it. I am seriously considering going back to just a talk/text phone. (that's a whole different post)

5) What is the proudest moment you've had as a military spouse?

I have lots of proud moments. Like when Mr achieves his goals, gets promoted, and just does his job to the best of his ability. I am also really proud when I see deadbeats back home in MO our age and older walking to work at TacoBell and knowing they're not going anywhere while we have 2 adorable children, a house full of belongings that we paid for.

Photo Blog Challenge Day 4

Inanimate object that hold sentimental value for you

I don't think I really have one particular object that I am attached too. I love all my stuff and I am very paticular about it, but if there was a crisis and I could only take one thing with me (besides my family) it would be my photo album/scrapbooks. I love my pictures! I love having pictures taken. They're all over my house and I have 2 giant scrapbooks that I am still filling up, not to mention the kids' birthbooks. Our whole lives are in those books. Things we laugh about, things we want to remember forever, and things we don't remember. If I want to remember how pregnant I was T & S, if I want to look back and see T do pushups before he started crawling, if I want to look back at my wedding day I can. I will always have those memories to remember in my books.

Doesn't this look like a circus fun house?

Photo Blog Challenge Day 3

A View You See Daily

Really. We have 3 molars breaking the skin at once right now, so we're a bit cranky...

and than my living room. I am so use to waking up and spending the majority of the day here. Whether it was watching a movie with T or playing dinosaurs, cars, or blocks on the floor, or watching movies & eating popcorn at night with Mr this is where we spend our time. I really miss my living room.

Friday Milspouse Fill in

Milspouse Friday Fill in:
1) During military separations (whether short or long) how do you keep yourself positive and motivated?
I get to spend one on one time with my kids and have 'sleep overs' I look forward to Mr coming home and don't take him for granted. I think/count down the paychecks and that seems to make the time go by faster all while saving money!

2) What is your favorite concert you have ever been to?
My favorite concert I've seen was Trans Siberian Orchestra. It was AWESOME! I want to see them again so badly, but things keep coming up.

3) What do you miss most about your "hometown"?
I miss that you can go anywhere and see someone you know, I miss that it runs a little slower than the rest of the world, I love that coming back home means family. I love that there is grass and plenty of room to run.

4) If you could run in any race, which charity would you choose to support?
Probably March of Dimes

5) You find out Willy Wonka is your father, what 3 course meal do you INSIST he create in that stick of gum?
chips/salsa with queso dip
chicken cesar salad (no croutons)
a warm brownie sundae with cold ice cream and caramel/fudge

Day 2 of the Photo Blog Challenge

Something I am proud of
These two mean more to me than anything in the world. I would give my life for them without a moments hesitation. They are my heart and soul.

I still feel empty

On Thursday a good friend of mine finally had her little boy. He is adorable and weighed in at 7 lbs 12 oz. We were there at the hospital waiting for them to come out of the csection. When we got to her room, they were still cleaning the little guy up, but I figured they'd be bringing him in soon, we had to leave before I could hold him, but my arms ached to hold him so bad...is that normal? It's not like I was going to run off with him out of the hospital, they know where we live, haha. But I just felt like I had to hold him...I don't know if that would have made it better or worse. The whole time I just kept thinking 'now it's my turn' IT SHOULD BE MY TURN. I found out I was pregnant just 8 weeks after Nikki. I should have a little over a month left and it should be me in the hospital holding that new born baby....but it's not.

Don't get me wrong, I am so thankful for the 2 children I already have, but it's not about them. It's about the baby that was in my belly and no longer isn't.

Gosh, it's been months now since I've lost the baby, but yet I still feel like my turn has been skipped. I don't know how long these feelings are going to last like this. I wish I could rely on the fact that there will be a next time, but I can't. That's another post in itself. I just wish someone could understand what I feel inside. I feel like I have no one to turn too that knows what I feel. The feelings of having my belly grow again, feeling the kicks for the first time, thinking of names, wondering who it will look like, geez at this point I even long for morning sickness. I'm just tired of feeling this empty inside.

Randomness

What I'm loving Wednesday errr Saturday.

*I am loving that the house is almost completely empty
* I am loving that I get to snuggle in bed with Ty tonight....even though he is being a turd right now.
* I am loving that Mr will be home tomorrow!!!
* I am loving that my dad gets in tomorrow!!
* I am loving that I am going to pawn the kids off on papa so Jake & I can go out alone. hehehehe
* I am loving that we are soon going to be living in a place that has a yard! Now I can go outside with out makeup and the kids can still get their energy out! woooo!

Do you or your {spouse} ever wish your {spouse} was in a different branch of the military?
I like Mr being in the Navy. He gets to wear his H O T blue digis, do his 'fun' things, and I like to think he's not right in the middle of the heavy action.

What duty station(s) are on your "No Way, Hell No, Not Going, Have Fun Unaccompanied" list and why?
Norfolk, ugh. I would love to go back to Dahlgren though. Loved it there!

If you could be one age forever, what age would you choose and why?
24. I like this age. It's not too young, but still young enough. I'm scared to turn 25 in August...

If you were a breakfast cereal, which one would you be?
Lucky Charms, I love all the marshmallows, especially the pot o' golds!

What is your morning beverage of choice and why?
Chocolate milk. I've never been a coffee person (only with my cookies!) So I usually just have milk, but I love Nesquik. I usually have it in the mornings and right before bed.

Photo Blog Challenge: Day 1: Me!

Not many people know this about me, but I use to body pierce at a tattoo parlor back home. I LOVED doing it. I was always meeting cool people and piercing them up! I always had friends/friends of friends outside of work try and get me to pierce them everywhere we were!

I'm a country girl, I like to shoot skeet and roll in the mud.
not really, I hate being dirty.

I love my girl nights out! Love cutting loose and having fun with the girls. I'm REALLY bad at karaoke

I have one beautiful family. I sure am one lucky gal.
