Milspouse Friday Fill In
1. Do you think civilians, in general, understand the meaning of Memorial Day?
I think many may have an idea of what it is, but I think the true meaning of it is often buried in bbqs, sales, and the unofficial beginning of summer. We all need to really remember the true reason behind Memorial Day: to remember the men/women who have given the ultimate sacrifice in fighting for our freedom over the years.
Thank you to all the military out there that are currently fighting for our country, giving up your time, your family, and some your lives so we can be free.
Thank you to my husband too who is currently serving his 3rd deployment overseas. We love you and miss you so much.

2. What are your plans for the Memorial Day Weekend?
There is a 100 mile yard sale that starts up today and goes all weekend. I am so excited to go out looking!
3. What skill/talent do you wish you had?
I wish I could sew...that's something I have on my list this summer.
4. Which came first: the chicken or the egg?
The chicken...but then how did the chicken get here unless it came from an egg, but how would an egg get here? It had to have been layed from a hen...i'm still going with the chicken ;)
5. What is the best thing about your post (base)? The worst?
I love that our base is so big and there is so much you can do on it. All the stores, the Nex, the commissary, movie theaters, bowling alley, etc. The worst is that it is SO big that our military housing is located off base since it couldn't possibly host all the families. I really miss living on the actual base. For some reason I always felt safer.

Milspouse Friday Fill-in
1. What is one of the things you always do special when your husband returns from a deployment?
As soon as I pick him up from the pier we go home to change his clothes and rest for a bit, but than we always go to lunch/supper at Cheesecake Factory. It's a tradition. We've done it for the last 3 deployments now. We just spend as much family time together at home, going to the park, just low key.
2. What do you do to help your spouse and/or yourself re-adjust after a deployment or long separation?
I let him do his own thing for awhile since he is use to it being alone on the boat for 6 months and if he does something different than what i've been doing I will just let it go.
3. Are you a crazy coupon clipper (I’m becoming one, so share your secrets with me)?
Not really. I try to clip some coupons that work for me, but I don't go out of my way to get things I'm not going to need that week just because they're on sale.
4. What’s your most treasured memory of you and your spouse (not counting your wedding – that’s a given)?
Maybe moving out to VA right after we were married. We were finally married and on our own, living in a new place just the two of us. It's been awesome having new adventures just us as a family.
5. If you could live anywhere overseas, what would you pick and why?
Probably Italy or Japan

Milspouse Fillin
Which was the best day of your life- Wedding day or Homecoming day?
Our wedding day was great, but the Homecoming was awesome! 6.5 months and I was beyond ready to get ahold of my husband again! It was just relief when I was back in his arms again.
Were you a part of the joining the military question or did you sign up for the relationship when your man was already in the military?
We dated all throughout High School, but than took a break for a few months and that is when he joined the Navy and left for bootcamp. We got back together when he was in Cschool so technically I came back into his life after he joined the military.
What is your favorite Disney movie and why?
I LOVE all Disney movies, but if I had to pick probably Little Mermaid, Beauty & the Beast, The Incredibles, etc.
What is your favorite family activity to do on the weekends?
We enjoy anything outside. The zoo, wild animal park, playgrounds, fishing, walks, just playing outside. We just want to be together and outside!
Where do you secretly wish you could be stationed with you/your SO's line of work (realistically speaking, not everyone can be stationed on NAS Fiji)?
I would love to go to Italy or Japan

Lord, it's me again.
Dear Lord,
I am coming to you in prayer again. I wanted to make it public this time so if anyone would like to pray with me I would appreciate them all. I am praying for a friend of mine, but you already know that. I've never met her, but we are military wives and that in itself is enough. Her family is really going through a hard time right now, God. It's her littlest boy...I know, you know him all too well. You know the hairs on his head, what lies in his heart, all the problems he is having. God, her family has been though so much and still she praises you. I have no idea how she goes about day to day with all that she is dealing with. You are there with them everyday, helping them. I'm asking you God to lift up her little boy. Please Lord, help them in only ways that you can. Put your hand down on him and help him Lord. Give them answers, give them wisdom, give them comfort. I know you are already there, sitting beside this little boy, holding this mother's hand, helping them cope, but I just wanted to pray again. There is no such thing as too much prayer, right? This little boy has been on my heart all day today and I just wish there were something that I could do. I don't think there is so I will continue to pray. Thank you Lord, Amen.

I checked facebook last night and saw it, "Osama Bin Laden is Dead" I than turned on the news and watched the live coverage of President Obama's speech about our victory. Everyone's reaction was about the same, a general feel of triump.
People were celebrating, People were remembering 911, People were praising our Military.
May 1st Prayer...Now I lay me down to sleep...one less terrorist this world does keep...with all my heart I give my thanks...to those in uniform regardless of ranks...you serve our country and serve it well...with humble hearts your stories tell...so as I rest my weary eyes...while freedom rings our flag still flies...you give your all, do what you must...with God we live and God we trust

I am thinking of my husband who is deployed, I am thinking of the other men and women who are currently deployed. What will this mean now? I am so proud to be an American and a military wife, and I am so proud of my husband and all the troops, but we have to remember he was a martyr. He had followers. This is a great time for our Nation, but I fear we have more trials that lay ahead.
Justice has finally been served.
But it isn't over yet.
